This year the person who murdered Rosaura is supposed to go to trial for first degree premeditated murder. Alas, his new defense team is asking for a plea. As a family we did not agree to the plea which was asking for the charge to be dropped to first degree manslaughter which carries a sentence of 7 to 21 years and possibly probation. This is not good enough he took the life of a wonderful, beautiful young lady who was tiny and had no way to defend herself against him. He doesn't deserve a second chance at life.
The defense team has requested the pima county attorneys office homicide panel review the evidence and they be the ones to decide whether or not the plea is accepted or it continues on it's current path to trial.
The homicide panel will review the evidence on Monday, January 6, 2020. Once this decision is known the blog will be updated.
